This week got off to a rough start. Amazon hadn’t price matched Blood & Bone after more than 72 hours. I tried to arrange for someone from KDP to call me 3 times Monday morning and my phone NEVER rang. But they did actually call and leave voicemails, so the problem was with my phone or carrier. However, by the end of the day, Deon, the amazing rep from Amazon, got it taken care of, so THANK YOU, Deon!
On top of that, WordPress did an update and all the book pages on my website vanished. Usually, I can fix it with a simple deactivation of a plug-in and then reactivating, but as I tried to do this, my laptop battery went completely dead and I had to charge it for a while before I could get it to turn back on. When I was finally able to do so, my usual fix didn’t work. I was able to handle it the next morning, but Monday night I was ready to pull my hair out!
Did I mention I also had to go to an oral surgeon Monday because there were “spots of concern” on my mandible during a routine dental X-ray? One of the possible causes of said spots could be cancer. Soooo, I was already stressed about that appointment. Thankfully, it was nothing more than calcifications…which means I still need to follow up with a doctor, but it’s not the other C-word, so it was still a relief.
Needless to say, I closed my computer Monday night in complete frustration, drank half a bottle of wine, and spent the evening reading The Chalk Man by C.J. Tudor. If you like mysteries and thrillers, this one kept me turning the pages until 2 a.m.
But Tuesday turned out to be a much, much better day. Blood & Bone (Blood & Bone, #1) is currently free on all platforms, so you can go pick up a copy if you haven’t yet. I’ve written a few words on Lady and the Vamp (Mystical Matchmakers, #2). And I have a Goodreads page set up for Rock and Troll (Mystical Matchmakers, #1)! Mystical Matchmakers will be a paranormal romcom series about a supernatural dating service. I have to say I had a lot of fun writing book 1. Book 2 is going a little slower, but it’s still fun and I’m nearly 1/3rd through the first draft! I should have a cover for Rock and Troll soon and a blurb, so be sure to add it to your Goodreads TBR or follow me on Amazon so you’ll know when the pre-order goes up.
